I have been working abroad for 6 years and today I returned to my hometown of Odessa, Texas after an absence. So many things have changed here. When I left Odessa, there was only one big shop on the right as you left town. On my way home I have already seen three shopping malls. A new fitness center has also been built just across from my old school.
A new concert hall has been built at the place of a library. It’s a pity, the library was really great. However, nowadays everyone has an opportunity to find any necessary information on the internet. To be honest, the concert hall looks gorgeous; I should visit it as soon as possible.
The downtown area has been changed most of all. The city center is now a pedestrian zone and it is not allowed to drive there anymore. An old boulevard looks fresh and captivating with a new fountain and stone benches, there are also two street cafes where couples sit and enjoy the green plants and trees around.
My street looks just the same as it always has but a cinema has been built in the next street along.
I was pleasantly surprised by different means of transport, there are no traffic jams at all. Another improvement is the number of new restaurants that have opened in Odessa. A Greek and an Italian restaurant have opened in the town center and a Japanese restaurant has opened near my home. Tonight I’m going there to taste the Japanese cuisine.
